St Marks Rangers V Confey FC DDSL U10 KO - 7.00PM
A very mixed affair of a game between both teams with a
messy start between the two teams, after a couple of
minutes both teams settled down to the game with some
excellent passing and attacks, the first coming from Confey,
which was dealt with by the cool head of Jade Ennis in the
St Marks defence who saw the ball up to the midfield whose
attack was halted by the Confey right winger who took the ball
on an excellent run which took a nice save from keeper Dylan Long,
who cleared his lines with a ball out to Sean Ennis,
who played the ball to the midfield to Dylan Sexton who
sidestepped the defender and struck the ball home.
On the restart, Confey not to be outdone rallied a number of
attacks on the St Marks goal with a couple of shots not far wide
of the mark, which resulted in a number of corners for Confey.
Half Time Score – St Marks 1 – Confey 0
The second half started with a couple of subs by both
sides in the midfield and defence. With a good build up by Confey, an
unlikely equalizer was nearly in the bag when a spinning ball from the
shin of Jade Ennis resulted in the ball heading toward the Marks goal,
the ball spun past the post for a corner which resulted in the ball being
headed over for a goal kick. A couple of runs by the Marks midfield saw
the ball being put past the Confey goal for goal kicks, one which resulted
in the ball being played to midfield which was picked up by Glen Quinn
in midfield who played the ball to the forward who duly took the ball
and with a well placed shot put the ball into the top corner of the goal.
With 7 mins to go, a mistake by the Marks midfield saw the ball played
through to the Confey running forward who slid the ball past the Marks
keeper, the last mins of the game saw the possession transfer back and
forth between both teams, but Confey couldn’t get through the defence to
get the equalizer.
